Default Folder enhances Open and Save dialog boxes to make it easier and faster for you to manage files on your Mac. It has a wonderful graphic interface and brings great enhancements to Open and Save dialogs, leveraging Leopard's QuickLook technology to provide zoomable previews in Open dialogs and refining its ability to add Spotlight comments in Save dialogs.  

You can access the contents of your recent, favorite, and open folders right from Default Folder X's toolbar. Its hierarchical pop-up menus expand as you mouse over them, letting you navigate your folders to get to your files. To work faster, you can assign a keyboard shortcut for all of your favorite folders. If an Open and Save dialog isn't open, then you can use Default Folder X's menu bar, Dock icon, or keyboard shortcuts. Click on greyed-out filenames instead of typing them in Save dialogs. Instead of typing the name for a new file in a Save dialog, you can option-click on the name of an existing file to copy it. Default Folder remembers the sorting order in the Open and Save dialogs of applications.

Another great  feature is the Fonts tab, which shows a list of all fonts that contain the selected character. This is a quick way to compare what the same character looks like in different fonts. Another major great features is the possibility to create custom layouts, which let you arrange and group characters according to your liking. PopChar no longer shows the recently used characters in a separate layout but rather displays them in a dedicated group at the top of the character table. No more switching back and forth between layouts; the recently used and the favorite characters are both always there at a convenient location in every layout.

ChronoSync is one of the best program to synchronizes or backs-up files and folders in a variety of ways. Synchronize files between folders, hard drives, removable media, laptops, file servers, or any computer, not just a Macintosh. We tested ChronoSync and many others similar programs  with computers in the same network using both WiFi or Ethernet: it was the only one to offer a simple and effective synchronization.

New : Introducing ChronoSync 11. This major update contains full support for macOS 14 Sonoma , and runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel-based Mac computers.
ChronoSync features the return of the simple Bootable Backups for Big Sur and Monterey. Since Catalina, Apple split the main drive into two volumes: System and Data. Starting with Big Sur you could no longer copy the System volume. ChronoSync’s approach to creating bootable backups on Big Sur was a bit cumbersome. It ignored the System volume and could only sync the Data volume which was a less than ideal scenario. ChronoSync  takes advantage of Apple’s APFS replication utility (called ASR) to create a cloned image on the destination volume. This approach creates bootable backups that are straightforward and easy to maintain.Notification Center Integration: the "Post message via Notification Center" option has been added for synchronizer and container documents as well as scheduler notifications.  Synchronize files in any direction or bi-directionally. Establish simple, intermediate, or advanced rules to include or exclude files by name, size, date, extension, plus other more advanced options. New:Each sync target can be given a custom name and these are displayed throughout the rest of the user interface. A specific target folder/volume can now be changed without losing all the state information recorded by previous synchronizations. 

All new Restore function provided in the Analyze panel offers several options for quickly restoring files that have previously been synchronized. 

Delete function in the Analyze panel is presented with a simpler set of options and provides better feedback during the deletion.ChronoSync can automatically mount another Mac using Apple® File Sharing. But if you use the combination of ChronoSync with ChronoAgent when connecting two Macs, the connection is safer, faster, and more reliable than using Apple File Sharing. ChronoAgent can automatically configure the port-mapping functionality of your router. You can draw and control bezier paths (saved shapes, free lines, or lines and curves in mixture), write or paste text where you want, drag-and-drop images, add simple tables, stamp date and page, and finally export all or a part of the document as image (JPEG, PDF, PNG and TIFF). 

Not very intuitive as it should be  but once you learn the  tricks it’s a fun app. I highly recommend to follow the example and the read me.
